Bianchi produced vintage bicycle frames
Bianchi is one of the oldest bicycle brands still manufacturing today. In 1885, when Edoardo Bianchi was 21, he started producing bikes in his shop in Milan, Italy. One of his first inventions involved making the front wheel smaller and using a chain, which made cycling safer as it was easier to balance.
Inventions of the Bianchi brand
In 1888 he developed the first bicycle using Dunlop tyres and built the first lady’s bike for Queen Margherita di Savoia in 1895. The first rider to achieve a major victory whilst riding a Bianchi bike was in 1899 by Giovanni Tomaselli at the Grand Prix de la Ville de Paris.
