Batavus is Dutch bicycle manufacturer. The company was founded in Heerenveen, Netherlands in 1904. The hand-made classic bicycle andvintage bicycle steel frames by Batavus are very popular and are of the highest quality.
The success of the design
In the 1930s, Batavus began to produce motorbikes and mopeds, alongside the production of bicycles. A Batavus bicycle was ridden byGerben Karstend, as he achieved two stage wins in the Tour de France in 1966. Furthermore Leontien van Moorsel became the world champion in the 1991 Road Race.
